Sweet pepper is an extraordinary vegetable with unusual taste and full of vitamins A and C that makes the blood vessels stronger and the immunity better. All types of pepper (capsicum, cayenne, chile etc.) were brought from South America by the European Spaniards in XV century. Nobody could imagine kitchen of any European nation without pepper. A lot of plants are called ‘pepper’ even if they have no connection one with another and do not belong to one botanical genus. The sweet-scented pepper, which we used to eat, belongs to the capsicum kin. This kin includes two types of pepper – big sweet-scented pepper (which is used as a vegetable) and chile pepper (which is a spicy relish). Pepper is an incredible source of different necessary materials: vitamins A, B2, C, sugar, fats etc. Green and red pepper contains twice more amount of the vitamin C in comparison with the orange. Red, orange and yellow pepper is full of β-carotene which has positive influence on the cardiac performance and lessens the possibility of cancer. Also we have black and scented pepper without which we could not imagine kitchen of any woman.
